Kewra Oil is obtained from steam distillation of flowers of kewra plant that is botanically named as PandanusOdoratissimus. PandanusOdoratissimus belongs to the family of Pandanaceae. It is a densely branched shrub, rarely erect. It is commonly found along the seashore of India.

Kewra finds extensive use in manufacturing of various perfumery products owing to its attractive fragrance. Kewra oil has the aroma resembling that of rose flowers. The oil originated in India and has light yellow to brown color. Kewra attar blends well with the YlangYlang oil.

Kewra Oil is extensively used in aromatherapy treatments to calm down the body. Because of its sweet and flowery fragrance, this oil is used in the preparation of many perfumes. It is also known as screw pine or kewra. Basically, this Kewra oil comprises of 2-phenyl ethyl methyl ether (37.7%), terpinen-4-ol (18.6%),-terpineol (8.3%) and 2-phenyl ethyl alcohol (7.5%).
